8th Edition of Global Entrepreneurship Bootcamp was concluded successfully in Bangkok, Thailand from 16th to 19th December 2022. The 8th edition of Global Entrepreneurship Bootcamp hosted 130 participants from 35 different countries.  The participants were mentored by 20 mentor/speaker from renowned institute around the globe.

The 8th edition of Global Entrepreneurship Bootcamp was hosted in collaboration with Swiss School of Management, United Peace Keepers Federal Council (UNPKFC) and Global School of Business Management as co-organizer, Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) Thailand, GreenTech Edu Venture as Knowledge partner and Stay De Luxe as Local partner. For the opening ceremony, GEB had welcomed honorable guests from Royal Thai Government followed by the Keynote session by Prof. Dr. Massimiliano Bracalé (President, Swiss School of Management), Dr. Aphinita Chaichana (President UNPKFC), Pisanupong Sittichockkaewmoon (Secretariat of the Prime Minister, Thailand) and Dato’ Steve Cheah, (Founder, Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), Thailand).

From the 8th Edition, GEB has introduced GEB Global Social Impact Award and  GEB Global Youth Icon Award to recognize and appreciate the effort of the change makers and impact creators in the community. Besides mentorship session, GEB hosted several networking sessions, team work sessions and cultural night which helped our participants, mentors/speakers as well as organizers create a bonding and explore more opportunities for collaboration. The uppermost goal of these sessions were to help participants work in their business model, build a strong network, grow the team spirit and help participants get the real-life experience of working in a team.

On the demo day, 11 different business ideas were pitched. The pitched Ideas included Blue Earth (a Revolutionary shoe design, multipurpose sustainable shoe brand that is made out of recycling plastics), Fumos Fuel (an environmental liability (Food Waste) to an industrial asset (Bio-Fuel)), Musa Pact (a company specializing in production and trading activities in the field of banana fiber and banana stem products), Footify (company which ties up with shoe brands, that are not very expensive, and target the middle market), Fox Plus One (a startup that helps to make education relevant, purposeful, practical, and value-oriented, so that trained teachers can help students apply what they learned),  HiveAsia (a platform for Leaders to discuss Global Agenda in Asia), HerbCarnation (a startup Creating a market for women farmers and we will serve as direct buyers, while creating different herbal products from the the herbs produced bought from those farmers), Farmer Connect (a startup to procure the excess vegetable production of rural farmers and sell it to the city customers in order to create impact in the lives of farmers and the customers), Yummy (an app that allows people to access baking recipes (with guiding videos), and order ingredients and supplies to their homes), Path Mate (an online mentoring and guiding platform for recent graduates seeking for better opportunities and career options) and  Urja (Electric Vehicle Power Station with other additional facilities).

The winner of the 8th Global Entrepreneurship Bootcamp was team Fumos Fuel with team members Samarth Goyal, Sahaj Patel Aman Badlani, Priyansh Thakkar and Foram Jani. The startup HerbCarnation was the Best Team of the Bootcamp with team member Fatou Manneh , Ruth Sitali , Rajdeep Ojha, Samkit Jain  and Meenal Jha.

The seventh edition of the Global Entrepreneurship Bootcamp, which was held from 22 to 25 July,2022 brought together 150 youngsters from 35 different countries along with a dozen entrepreneurs and experts as mentors to create an environment for innovation.

Blue Earth

Between 2019 and 2020, there was a 5.7% overall decrease in plastics recovered for recycling in the U.S. That is the equivalent of 290 million pounds. Globally, we produce about 400 million tons of plastic waste yearly. Therefore, plastic recycling is much needed in today’s world. Further, in 2022, the global footwear market was estimated to be worth 5443.9 billion U.S. dollars and was forecast to grow significantly over the preceding years, reaching about 508 billion U.S. dollars by 2027. So to address the issue of plastics degrade and huge opportunity in footwear, team Blue Earth came up with the concept of a Revolutionary shoe design, multipurpose sustainable shoe brand that is made out of recycling plastics which is easy to carry, affordable, switchable shoe sole and buy back model. The startup will also donate 10% profit margin for Ocean cleaning drives and campaigns, free shoes to underdeveloped communities.

Fumos Fuel

To solve the environmental crisis of ineffective utilization of food waste generated in various food joints all across the city, team Fumos Fuel came up with the concept of converting an environmental liability into the most important industrial asset. The team aims to collect the inedible food waste followed by utilization of waste generated during the process. The fuel generated can be used for various purpose, reduce carbon footprint effectively, no burning of fossil fuels, will be less expensive, no chemicals will be used and the fuel will be eco-friendly.

Musa Pact

Musa Pact is a company specializing in production and trading activities in the field of banana fiber and banana stem products. Banana fiber, also known as Musa fiber is one of the world's strongest natural fibers. Biodegradable, the natural fiber is made from the stem of the banana tree and is incredibly durable. This project aims bring to the consumer community a product that is completely natural, environmentally friendly and especially brings many benefits to people. The startup, in near future, aims to initiate Musa workshop, Musa Village, Musa Park, Musa research and Development Institute and Musa factory to support and scale up the initiative.

Footify

Footify is a startup company which ties up with shoe brands that are not very expensive, and target the middle market. A recent study shows that 1.7 Billion people suffer from lower back problem caused by improper posture due to uncomfortable shoes. To address the problem of orthopedic injuries caused by wrong posture and accidental falls, team footify came up with the concept of pressure sensor based shoe which is connected with a mobile application that helps in tracking every step for weight, pressure applied, distance covered and acceleration. These data will be sent to the user for the posture correction advisory.

Fox Plus One

Fox Plus One is a startup that helps to make education relevant, purposeful, practical, and value-oriented, so that trained teachers can help students apply what they learned. The startup aims to address educational challenges in Nepal including unpractical curriculum, limited access to learn 21st Century skills and untrained teachers who lack knowledge and experience in the field of workforce development. As solutions, the startup Fox Plus One will offer teacher training program, standardize the curriculum and teacher certification for professional development, gaining credentials that can provide opportunities for career growth. In this way, the startup aims to work with various stakeholders, local government and institutions to develop a 21st century skills course so that local teachers will assist Nepalese students in developing life skills such as creativity, collaboration, communication and critical thinking.

HiveAsia

In today’s world, there is an urgent need for the youth to discuss the global agenda and collaborate. Therefore, HiveAsia aims to make a community of future leaders in Asia to Discuss the Future of Asia. This community of future leaders will help the members to get inspired from like-minded young leaders, cross cultural exchange and build network with peers in Asia. The gathering will consist of plenary sessions, workshops, booth exhibition and video during breaks. The startup HiveAsia is planning to make this as a Platform for Leaders to discuss Global Agenda in Asia.

HerbCarnation

Currently, farmers are facing difficulty in selling their herbal products whereas many customers are looking for the healthier herbal products. To bridge the gap between the farmers and customers, HerbCation is a startup creating a market for women farmers and they will serve as direct buyers, while creating different herbal products from the herbs produced/ bought from those farmers. The products would be confectionary, tea bags, drinks, spices etc. This startup plans to create a GLO-CAL product with the blending herbs from different countries. In this way, HerbCarnation aims to offer the best , most affordable and relevant natural ingredients for a health life and growth in children and adults, while given them an option to choose from the different flavours we will develop from a combination of African and Asian herbs.

Farmer Connect

The commercially grown food products have flat taste, cause health hazards and affects the environment as well. Further, for the food products as well, there has been no considerable effort to improve the market opportunity for the processed farm products and unconventional. Processed farm products are the way to earn a stable and extra income for the farmers if provided a good market opportunity, Farmer connect exists to fill this gap. Farmer Connect helps to procure the excess vegetable production of rural farmers and sell it to the city customers in order to create impact in the lives of farmers and the customers. The startup will promote distributed farming that provides healthy harvest and protects the environment which will also help the farmers to earn more.

Yummy

Yummy is an app that allows people to access baking recipes (with guiding videos), and order ingredients and supplies to their homes. We all love bakery products but we would love it more if we could make it our own way or even get the assistance in baking the bakery products at homes. But we donot know where to start from. To address this, startup Yummy came up with the concept of a mobile application that provide recipes through our app and home delivery for boxes supplies for individual bakers.

PathMate

In the developing nations, the students who are graduating don’t know how to position themselves for an effective job search and are very unclear and confused on which career path to take. On the other hand, the requirements of employers don’t always align with the skills and experience that the graduates have. To address this problem, startup PathMate has developed an online mentoring and guiding platform for recent graduates seeking for better opportunities and career options. PathMate is one stop solution for one to one mentorship, industry specific learning, developing leadership and competence as well as building a smart and supportive network.

Urja

The market for electric car power stations is anticipated to grow at a CAGR of 38% by 2024. A lot of people are skeptical of the benefits of electric cars; the fact that the possibility of constructing two EV power plants in each district of Nepal because of the trust of people toward electric vehicles is also increasing due to the support of the government for electric vehicles and Recently the electric vehicle is creating an extraordinary market in Nepal. To grab this market, team Urja came up with the concept of EV station with garage and solar themed café.
